Trapped Butterfly

Trapped in her cocoon,
Locked away in her own world,
She is unable to fly away from the dark mist that overshadows her,
With no hope left in her life.

She has began to wonder the depth of ever finding that hope again.
She is determined to put up that fake smile
She wants to break free from the cocoon and fly away from the mess that was fabricated upon her.
But her wings are held down by a tremendous amount of darkness, that it is unlikely to happen.

Each and everyday she wakes up, and thinks to herself when will she ever get through this.
The inflicted wound is so deep that numbness and pain is what is felt.
To draw a butterfly on her wrist stopped her from self inflicted harm.
Her once colourful life has been locked away in her heart.
Waiting to be set free when she escapes from her cocoon.

Some say the heart holds the key.
But does it really?

She is unable to find the answer.
All she wants to do is to break free from the cocoon,
Spread her wings and fly
So that she can soar through life, and never look back
But look towards the bright future.
And leave the endless darkness that once ruled her sight.
With the wings of a butterfly
